What Are the Prospects for Life Around a White Dwarf?

There's a zone in the milky way where stars are most likely to have planets that could form life. But even if it's true like that, as you mention, interesting in and of itself, like why? I mean, i feel like this is just another example of science editors nce writers underestimating the interest level, the curiosity, the intelligence of the reader. Yet, they have, they have to play the life angle. And it's not really a very plausible angle.
