E r squib was a former physician at the brooklyn navy yard who branched out in the year 18 58 into the manufacture of ether and choro. During one of those disasters, he was terribly burned and scarred for life. By 18 80, they had another big success with citric acid made from imported italian lemons. To day, you can find a small park in brooklyn named in his honor. And the factory of squib and sons still stands in the neighborhood.
