The Importance of Simulation in AI

Musk in 2016 basically says that there is only a one in a billion chance that we are not living in a simulation right now. That's more alarming than anything else to me. I've spent a lot of time thinking about the simulation theory this year. Have I had to say, I find it scarily persuasive, but I don't know how much we want to go there. Okay. How should I feel about the idea that someone who wields an enormous amount of power and influence might think that nothing's really happening and he's in a computer program? Totally. Like that's fine.
