You can think of yourself as likea out of these little matter ripples that are maintaining their distance from each other by passing back and forth. But there's no microscopic equivalent of touching the surfaces. Are not like actually coming into contact y, but in a way. And this is something the physicists struggle to understand for a long time. They call this spooky action at a distance.
