Theory that fluctuations in de sitter space can cause elementary particles to randomly come together creates an entire universe just like ours. Theory is not compatible with how we think the universe actually works, and doesn't fit other things we know about the universe. But it could be a plausible explanation for where our universe came from - if desiter space lasts forever.
