The word that comes to mind is optimization. You're optimizing for the fitness, hence maybe more road bike there. But then when you're recovered from the last race and, but yet you don't want to do a big interval day, it's like, okay, this might be a great day to optimize my skill development. So I can get on the mountain bike and just really focus on skill development.
