I Think It's Just About Being Honest About the Role That We Played in Slavery
Ons thinks there's an extraordinary amount of amnesia amongst a british people about our role in slavery. So much of the wealth that britain was accumulated at that time and built on is funded directly by slave trading, he says. And it doesn't need to be that black and white - we were terrible, monstrous people than we still are now, or we were actually kind of the good guys. Em, it's just being honest about the role that we played and the money that was made off of it. We can't change the past, but we can acknowledge the reality of it, i think.
