Smaller Farms Are Better Than Bigger Farms in Low Income Countries

For 70 years, economists looking at data from india and from many, many low income countries, have found the same thing. When you move from a small farm to a slightly larger farm, say our two and a half acre farm to a five acre farm, the evidence is very clear. Productivity per acre goes down. And this isn't just an india thing. This is true across the board in lowincome countries. Absolutely absolutely.
