The Challenges of Living in an Out of Town Jewish Community

The biggest burden for people who live frugally is a Shiva tuition. In order to send four kids to your Shiva day school, you have to earn $120,000 pre-tax just to pay your Shiva tuition. Even if both of you are working, it's very challenging. The other piece which I think is challenging is people do want to be close to family. We've moved towards the nuclear family away from the broader family. It feels like that we need greater infrastructure.
