The Importance of Optimism in College Football
I think one of those things is that people forget that fan size and audience interest doesn't necessarily correspond to competitiveness in college football. One thing I haven't seen suggested is like a Vanderbilt being in the SEC or maybe Rutgers being in the big 10. And if every decision is motivated by money and competitiveness, when are we going to start to see teams getting kicked out of conferences because they don't fit with whatever the SEC and big 10 want to be now? But there's some still some kind of fun and perhaps even some meaning to be had in big 10 teams playing against schools from the West Coast.
