Universal Basic Income (UBI)
universal basic income has gained steam over the past few years. The pilot programme that really sparked so much of this conversation was implemented by mayor mike tubbs in stockton, California. That programme provided a hundred and 25 residents with 500 dollar chequs a month over a two year period. Contrary to republican talking points getting that money not only improved the lives of those families but also it didn't disintenivize them from obtaining employment. So we've seen some action taken at the state level and in congress that embodies that spirit.
