A startup in Seattle is developing a solution to rhino poaching problems by 3D printing rhino horns that are, according to them, indistinguishable right down to the DNA from the real thing. Their intent here is to mass produce these things, flood the market with them and thereby drive the price of rhino horn down solo so it's no longer profitable for poachers to poach. In Free Our Markets, Howie Batcher talks about elephant poaching in Zaire and Zimbabwe, and how these two countries dealt with elephant poaching. The one tried to stand a thwart the laws of economics by outlawing elephant poaching but they ended up raising more elephants.
