The Importance of Integration in the Hospital System
Hospital physician integration has been associated so far with more intense or more expensive approaches to care. The right response could be pretty nuanced, and I don't see any of these approaches as mutually exclusive. And I think that identifying the situations where integration is helpful for patients and where it is not so effective is one of the biggest challenges ahead.
