Is Sentience the Cutoff Point?

I think the pleasure and pain are sort of mechanisms in animals, I don't say they're unaware or unconscious. They're the conscious mechanisms that contribute to their proper functioning. But we can act sort of, you know, we can take that. An enjoyable experience is not what makes it worthwhile. It can be an aspect that adds to the fulfillment of the thing, but it is not in itself what makes something worthwhile.
