The Impact of Carbon Transition Risk on Emerging Market Banks
Banks' biggest exposure to environmental risk comes from what's called carbon transition risk. Carbon-intensive sectors form such a big part of many emerging market economies. Banks in emerging markets will have more trouble diversifying their lending to less carbon-intensive sectors.
