David Augustus Burke's Note on an Air Sickness Bag
After two days of digging through what was left of the plane, they found the parts of a handgun containing six spent cartridge cases. A note on an air sickness bag that was written by David Augustus Burke indicated that he may have been responsible for the crash. It turns out Burke was a recently fired LA based employee of US Air. He was suspended in 1987 after being caught stealing $69 from in flight cocktail receipts.
