The Frailty of Being a Child
As a child, there's research to suggest some of this can happen as early as the womb. We have a very primeval proto sense of our own frailty, right? Our own killableness. And so not being connected to God in an aware state from the early, earliest stages, we don't know to choose God. So we find it wherever we can and I don't think God shames us for that but there are ramifications.
