Right thinking is a process. It's an ongoing practice. You'll e realized, behave in certain ways, and you encourage very disturbed thinking. Behave in other ways, and your mind will remain calm. In his tradition, unlike in japanese zen, the my e sutra and related texts like the mindfulness of breathing sutra are much emphasized. I think he mentions that when he was a young monk, these sutras were taught to him, and he memorized them then.
