The Dark Side of Borrowing
The use of debt to fund things is pervasive throughout the economy. In this country, we subsidize home ownership only if you borrow through taxes. The historical mistake was made to allow taxeductability of interest for corporations. We should not favor that over equity funding for corporations because they can always have access to their own profits and investors.
