I think part of my resistance is at the end, I don't have a theory that allows me to punish anybody. And it just does seem absurd to talk about an idea that can be abused. What Foucault says is that if you go back to 15, 1600s, like, punishment was much more violent and barbaric than now. They didn't have this idea of criminalizing everything and setting everything down as some sort of rigid law. That's kind of an invention of the Enlightenment period.
