Albert Fish was examined by multiple doctors in his lifetime, but the psychiatrist that spent the most time studying fish was Dr. Frederick Wertham. Wertham's ultimate diagnosis was that Fish suffered from paranoid psychosis with a religious complex. Does this still hold up today? It seems likely that Fish would fall somewhere on the schizophrenia spectrum.
