The Angelina Effect of Celebrity Advertising
The Angelina effect is interesting to me. I think it probably speaks to the underlying purpose of advertising, maybe not all advertising, but celebrity advertising in particular. There's this competition in the attention space of people to try and get your brand associated with whatever outcome you're trying to sell. The Coca-Cola ad isn't solid Coca-Cola, it's selling you this is what like a hot chick looks like. It sort of bypasses rational thought.
