Kathy Koner-Zuckerman is the real Gidget. She's a hostess at Duke's Restaurant in Malibu, California. Her stories became the basis for the original Gidget novel written by her dad. The book was released in 1957 and hit the LA Times bestseller list ahead of Jack Kerouac's On The Road.
