The Evolution of Mammals in the Jurassic Period
At the end of the triassic period, about 200 million years ago, there was another extinction. Then you have this 50 on years stretch were the first mammals. And dinosaurs and crocodiles and turtles and terodactyls all evolving. Mammals continued to diversify as they ate baby dinosaurs for breakfast. We have a fossil mammal from china that has the bones of a little dinosaur in its stomach. So boy, that really turns on its head that classic trope of, you know, dinosaurs stumping o mammals.
