Is There a Growing Problem About Pollution and Ecology?
The only reason we have so much more attention to ecology and pollution is that weewere rich enough to be able to afford the luxury. The automobile has been a source of less pollution, not more. Have you ever seen any calculations of what the streets of our big cities would look like if we were still using horses to pull thanks. We're going about it by trying to regulate the equipment which people use. And that's a very bad way to do it. Far better to impose an affluent tax and then leave it to the ingenuity of people to minimize the cost.
