The idea here is that states can, in feory, decide on their own how to choose the people there sending to be electoral college. Once enough other states also pass tis then we are bound by the winner in e national vote and te popular vote. It's just that a majority of people in reelectural college will always agree with the winner of the national popular bord. How close are we to passing this? And is there a risk that the supreme court might strike this down, potentially in the middle of a contentious election, which could lead to a real constitutional mess?
