The Debt Crisis in Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico is in a debt crisis and can't declare bankruptcy. A presidentially appointed board called Pro Mesa oversees all of anything happening on the island that involves money. They have personal corporate interests with our, you know, they support certain presidential candidates. And so it's literally a panel of corporate raiders who now are determining what happens. It sounds like a just a perverse experiment invented by neoliberal capitalism to see what happens if you can chase actual inhabitants out or drive kind of privatized business in defund schools.
