The Expectation Effect
Expectation effect is a phenomenon where we create self-fulfilling properties from our beliefs through three main mechanisms. These are changes to our perception, changes to our physiology and changes to our behavior. A change to your perception could easily change your behavior. If you change your expectations for exercise, that can actually boost your performance so it can change things like the gas exchange within your lungs.
