Lenin's Decision to End the Peace Talks Was Based on Two Basic Assumptions

Bilsutski's decision to abruptly end the peace talks came from two basic assumptions he made. He said, i am not worried about the strength of russia. If i wanted to, i could go now, say, to moscow, and no one would be able to resist my power. The day after the talks ended, trotsky published an awfully bellicose statement that was clearly ready to go. When we have finished with denikin, we shall throw the full weight of reserves on to the polish front.
