After the death of ashubanipal chaos began to reign in assyria. Babylon once more declared independence, and civil war split the empire. The great instigators of this downfall would be the people whom the assyrians had so inadvertently helped. In a startling prize attack, the medean armies marched down through the foothills of the zagros mountains and invaded the lands of assyrian land.
