I started to read the bible the way that i was trained to read a book, examining its textual authority, authorship, canonicity and internal herminutics. Those terms in themselves might be somewhat or at least is not completely understood for some, some of us. I told my students over and over again, you earned the right to critique something by actually knowing it. And i needed to take my own vice.
