Is there a point in which the cost of Mastodon.social will be too much where you'll have to actually monetize it directly? I think that's a very fair way to monetize, but right now people manage to do with Patreon and basically an other system,. You say, okay, I pay you this amount per month and for that, I receive an account and good quality of service. That makes sense to me. If you want this to be a success on the scale of success you're talking about, it actually needs to become an ecosystem. There needs to be multiple kinds of business models and businesses using the protocol - inventing new ways of going.
