What are we getting by recognizing natural rights of property that we might not be getting if we just stick to law of contract? It's a great question. I'm going to do my best to give a short answer, but it's going to bake lots of follow-up questions. So the question with property is, there's a resource that isn't a person and is not an obvious extension of a person like the person's reputation. Why does one or a few people get priority to use it? And so you need two systems of law,. One to answer the questions about things that aren't people; another institutional framework for why people may be bound to perform later what they promised to do
