This week i catch up with geordie bilinna and david schwartz from hermes. We talk about the l two landscape z k roll ups and how different teams are approaching e v m compatibility on their respective chains. And we then dig in to z k e v m, a model where they are using zero nog proofs throughout the architecture. This episode was recorded just days before the team made a massive announcement about the polygon hermes merger.

This week, Anna chats with Jordi Baylina and David Schwartz from Hermez about their zkEVM design that was first revealed at EthCC. Jordi and David explain the design choices such as why they push for recreating the EVM, how it’s done at a technical level and how Hermez’s approach is different from other zk teams like Matter Labs and StarkWare.

The original recording was done before the news of the merger with Polygon came out, so the trio came back together for a brief chat about what it means and how the zk space evolved in the past three years!
