Zambia's Debt Restructuring Process Takes So Long
It took a long time for the government to get anywhere in the debt restructuring process since they initially signaled that they would be looking to restructure their external debt in I think it was the first quarter of 2020. Not much happened until this year when China agreed to join the official bilateral creditors committee, which has since then held two meetings. Zambia has $3 billion worth of outstanding euro bonds. And as you said, the government has mentioned that they are targeting to sign a memorandum of understanding between theofficial bilateral creditors committee by the end of this year or early next year.
