Female husband is a term used to describe people who are transgender. Charles hamilton was assigned female at birth and began living as a man when they were ten years old. After two months of marriage, mary creeb freaked out and ran to the authorities because she thought her husband was a woman. She made a sworn testimony with the authorities in which she told them that charles hamilton had been lying about his identity all this time. The story becomes the basis for a fictionalized version of it written by henry fielding called 'The Female Husband'
