Is There an Infinite Number of Physical Things in the World?
If you can have a more rigorous way of paraphrasing something, then you're not committed to that entity existing. And so far, no one's done it. And i don't think anyone ever will. In the case of nominalism, it would be like that. The thing that is suspect is the existence of numbers. Can we paraphrase all science that is predicated on the need for math y to not have a need for numbers? Yes. But i could just change my word around, adam kissed steve, right? And now i'm not committing myself to anything. This all gets into positivism, where things are meaningful if and only if they're scientifically verifiable
