The Importance of Materialize in a SaaS Environment
The holy grail, I feel should be that developers at least shouldn't really have to worry about those things. The problem comes when this performance difference is when you swap out the back ends. This lets you maintain a materialized view of an arbitrary SQL query within milliseconds of the underlying data changing.
