The idea of a Communist return absolutely horrified many people in the West as well, but particularly in Russia. And this is when we had the era of the semi-bankier shtina. It's an interesting parallel actually, the so-called seven boyars back in 1610 deposed Vasilisweski - who was himself frankly a deeply unpleasant usurper. But anyway, they in due course invited the Poles to Moscow, whereas of course the oligarchs invited Western economists.
