Can Labor Be Bolder in the Next Election?
Labor has at the moment a public position, which is we want better childcare. But they haven't set out a strong, well-defined policy for it and now the Conservatives have pretty much stolen that. So Labor will no doubt match it, but even if Labor comes out with something a little bit better, the Conservatives can say to parents over the coming years, you will get free childcare. And there's a number of other areas where Labor is in danger of having a kind of policy,.Something which at the moment does distinguish them from the Conservatives, but the Conservatives could adopt because it's too vague, it's too minimal.
