Uda's work has had a resurgence of interest in the last, oh, I don't know, a couple of decades. He was working and making changes to patterns that almost up the day he died. His group coined the term military political gymnastics for things that you get into that sort of look like wars. The idea of large scale conventional conflict, whether survival of the state is a state, doesn't apply anymore to the United States.
