They say he may have done that to galvanize his supporters around him as he prepares for a potential run in 20 24. The justice department really took it on the chin by the inspector general of the department who did a very critical report of how they did some things in the trump russia investigation,. particularly how they applied for fieson warrants. There's no one i've talked to who understands how these matters work that that doesn't believe that merigarland was the final decision maker here.
