Is Carbon Capture and Storage a Realistic Plausible Economical Solution?

Is carbon capture and storage a realistic plausible economically viable solution? If it worked for, we could run gas plants and capture all the carbon coming out of them, that's got to be better than not doing it. The idea that we would have hundreds or even thousands of coal fire pastations around the world with carbon capture stuck on them has basically gone out the window. Is there still a role for carbon capture around the margins in the power sector, perhaps? And then is there arole for carbon capture in other areas? So particularly industry.
