The Debt Ceiling Debate
I told them, I mean, this debt ceiling debate last week, people are like, what, we don't know if we just stop spending, we wouldn't have to have this debate. It's probably 50% of federal spending. So what do we do? Go to 80%, 90%. Do we cancel all other national priorities? Still we'll have to raise the debt ceiling probably next year. Because it's a that's 11% non-defense discretionary is 11% of the total budget. There's broad fear of dealing with it. And also, I think broad ignorance of how to deal with it.
