Nozick's Utopia
Nozick is very aware that a lot of people are not going to agree with his argument. The path he takes in the book is from anarchy through state to utopia. So what's the utopian bit? Nozick has no problem with communism. What he doesn't like is compulsory communism. In that anarchist tradition that 19th century tradition that he hocks back to, there is always a utopian strain of ideal communities which actually might well themselves be socialist communities on the inside.
