Matthew Lewis met omar in two thousand nine. He was a former us Military interpreter an afghan who had decided to work with journalists. So we started working together doing investigations in afghanistan, and became friends as well. I got to know his whole family, and, you know, he wanted to get out. But the only way th a i could do that was to go under cover as an afghan refugee myself.
