The Biden Administration's View on Cryptocurrency
In the US, where the mining is, it's like hydro in the Appalachia's hydro and upstate New York. The US grid is actually pretty clean by global standards. We have lots of natural gas, which is also fairly clean relative to coal at least. So don't know what the hell the Biden admin is doing here. It doesn't achieve any of the objectives. And also the tax wouldn't raise money because the miners would just be out of business in the US. They're not going to pay a 30% in surcharge. Not to mention they're mining less energy efficiently, right? From an emissions perspective, it's also counterproductive.
