"There was an a feeding frenzy going on where the big record labels were, you know, acting really and appropriately destroying local music scenes," he says. "And so if you weren't protective of yourself in some way, you wer weren't being realistic." He adds: "i don't tend to act in a very protect protective manner, like, it's not my normal mode of behavior ... but i wanted to make sure that everybody knew that i was aware of those differences"
