Introduction

Last time we talked about monitoring so today we have someone here to talk to us about monitoring closed sibling alerting. Amelia works on auto alert, a service at Google for alerting services across Google if there's something going wrong. So I like to think of the main distinction between monitoring and alerting as being one of timing. You want to get alerts when something is going wrong and is actionable not get them when things are working as intended.
