The Origins of Intellectual Superstars

I don't think they were, you know, causal agents that changed the course of history. And I do think that they were able to rationalize and then to spread the ideas that drove these movements. These are real flesh and blood people that are advancing this political project. It's not merely a Hegelian dialectic that proceeds without any human cause at all. So if they hadn't been born was they're close substitute waiting in the wings for each of these or maybe it would have actually mattered.
